The Pasifika Cultural Arts and Crafts Workshop Series is a community-driven initiative designed to celebrate and preserve Pasifika cultural traditions. The workshops offer hands-on experiences in traditional art forms such as tapa cloth making, weaving, carving, tattooing, dance, music, and cultural storytelling. Objectives include:
- Providing a culturally enriching space for participants to engage in traditional Pasifika arts.
- Fostering intergenerational knowledge-sharing by involving elders, artists, and youth.
The workshops aim to promote well-being and encourage positive lifestyle choices, including a commitment to being smokefree. This will be achieved through:
Storytelling and Creative Expression: Highlighting traditional values of health, well-being, and respect for the body.
Guest Speakers and Visual Storytelling: Reinforcing the benefits of a smokefree lifestyle in an inclusive and supportive environment.
